Description:
A significant cultural item: cuff bracelet in silver made as dowry.For the dowry, the bride was literally weighed down with silver ornamentation. Rings were made in matching pairs; so with bracelets and anklets. Bracelets were made to fit along each arm, even above the elbow.
This particular bracelet must have been made to fit a certain bride's wrist.Thus,in those time "custom fitting" was a common tradition.
Most of the silversmiths were removed from Turkmenistan after the partition , so this work is no longer being done,so this would be an important addition to your collection or your adornment.
This cuff is made out of silver (not silver plated).The cuff is hand carved along the whole band.The cuff is decorated with gemstones in red and green.Not too heavy on the wrist.
