Large Gold jhumka earrings from the Northern Pakistan and Afghan border region in the Hindu Kush mountains. They are called Aloch meaning they are a style found in the Swat Valley area...the name probably evolved from "Baloch" people that settled in the area.
These earrings are hand made, they are a design that has existed for centuries in this remote valley and are still being made.
The classic pink and green enamel on these earrings is characteristic of the valley.
