This is an Afghan Kuchi bracelet.Also know as Belly Dance Perisian cuff bracelet.A simple cuff bracelet, made of German silver, commonly used in Afghanistan. These large cuff bangles are made by expert artisan.
The most unique part of the necklace is the use of Coral stone in the construction.I have rarely seen a Gargoyle cuff with any large stones.
This vintage Gargoyle Bracelet was handcrafted during the mid 1900's using mixed metals. A warm age patina and gentle wear patterns remain intact. Bracelets like these are especially popular in Central Asia and northern India, where they have been worn for centuries. The terminals are called Makara-Heads, named after a ferociously protective sea-dragon borrowed from Hindu mythology. Representing strength, love and protection, Makara was the mythical vehicle of the river Goddess Ganga who purifies, nurtures and protects all those who come to her waters.
