This beautiful and extraordinary ring is coming to my collection from Turkmenistan.Turkmen were mainly nomadic people until the 1930s.Many tribal customs still survive among modern Turkmen.The culture of this region is extremely rich.Art and design in every form runs in the blood of every turkmen to date.
Different nomadic tribes in Turkmenistan prefer different styles of jewelry making.This particular ring is made by the people of the Yomut tribe who preferred surfaces crowded with ornamental designs and stones.
The ring features a medium sized blue lapis lazuli,sitting on a tall band of age old silver.The band is then attached to a dome shaped piece(glided) which is hand engraved with floral motifs.Dome of the ring has tiny color stone beads.Sitting on the top of the dome is a beautiful Lapis,circled by pretty metal floral beads.
This ring is a work of art.
